With thousands of motorcycle accidents everyday, thousands of warnings are also being delivered to motorists through internet, friends, families, and more. But what is happening? Why are there more accidents happening than we could imagine?
These are the following factors, to what I think, that contribute in daily accidents:
1. Attitude
Yes, attitude. That's the number 1 problem with us. We don't follow the rules, and we make our own. We usually look at "30 Mph" as "60 Mph", and a "No Left Turn" as "Left Turn All You Want".
2. Curiosity
We are not satisfied with 75 miles per hour, so we tend to try and put more power in our engines and reach more than 150 mph and see what will happen! We humans are fond of being "curious". We want to discover more to an instance that we are in the pit of discovering ourselves in the grave!
3. Showy
Big bikes and Harleys have been our dream bikes, but every bike is our dream. Even BMX! Small or big, it's just the same! Just remember that: we use it for transporting, not for fashion or MotoGP stunts! While riding, we are likely to find some fans on the road and show them what your bike can do.
We also show them how to lean on the road with our bikes! Yikes!
4. Absent-mindedness
Lots of problems? Stop thinking and think of the road! Don't let your problems overcome you, or you might end up having no problems at all! You know what I mean.
5. Distraction
I consider this factor for "men" especially. They consider beautiful "ladies" wearing mini skirts as their main "roads". True? If it's not, then why do always men look?! Eyes on the road!
This factor is also a partner of #3. Why? Because "men" becomes showy when distracted by pretty "women". True?
6. Fear
Have you tried driving a car with full of fear? It seems like you'll be crushed by a big 10 wheeler truck anytime right? Same goes with riding! It goes well with #4 because anxiousness or fear overcomes the mind with the tendency of becoming absent minded and causing trauma in the end. An example is: when you're on a junction where a lot of cars pass by and you're still thinking when to move; in which a car at your back suddenly horns at you, making you move forward an instant and "BAM"; accidents happen.
7. Over-confidence
Lastly, being over confident. Yes over-confidence kills, same with speed. You are over confident enough to cross the yellow-to-red stoplight, but unfortunately, some guy who wanted to poop crossed and "BAM"; accidents happen. You are over confident of performing a stunt "wheelie" in front of your beloved fans and "BAM"; accidents happen. You are over confident of burning out your wheel but ended up 30 meters away as you forgot to press your front brakes and "BAM"; accidents happen.
