As of today (March 13, 2019) Facebook and Instagram has been shutdown for maintenance works. People all over the world have been ranting about the social media platforms. Messages are showing to all affected users but Facebook's staffs or developers has no reference to the situation.
"Facebook is down for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes. In the meantime, read more about why you're seeing this message. Thanks for your patience as we improve the site."
This has been the message of Facebook to most of the users. Others have shared that they were able to get back online. Other features like posting photos, posting comments or adding stories did not appear to be working.
One user has also told, "Facebook is down it looks like. People are actually going to have to talk to each other!".
Many users on Twitter have ranted their own tweets saying that the big 2 companies, which are Facebook and Instagram, are down. Many are concerned that maybe these companies are hacked similarly to what happened last year December 2018.
